Hijacked breeder accounts and page-takeover scams
What happened
A documented pattern. A real breeder's Facebook or Instagram page is hacked or cloned, and the scammer uses that trusted, established account to collect deposits from the breeder's own followers. Even a known page can be compromised, so if payment details suddenly change or the tone shifts to urgency and deposits, stop. Confirm directly with the breeder by phone or in person before sending money, and report the compromised account.
