Stud-service deposit scams
What happened
A documented scam pattern targeting breeders. A "stud owner" advertises a desirable male at a low stud fee, takes a deposit to "book the date", then disappears or endlessly reschedules. Some use stolen photos of a well-known stud. Before paying any stud deposit, verify the dog and owner in person, check registration and health tests directly with the registry, and never pay a deposit to hold a date with someone you cannot confirm exists.
