When a seller refuses a video call or an in-person visit
What happened
A documented scam pattern, and one of the simplest tests you can run. Real sellers can show you the animal; scammers cannot, because there is no animal. They avoid live video and in-person visits with excuses about being too busy or too far away, preferring text and email. Always insist on a live video call in which the seller holds their ID and a paper showing today's date next to the animal, and try to visit in person or send someone you trust before paying. A flat refusal to do either is a strong sign of a scam.
