Fake breeder directories and review sites
What happened
A documented pattern. Scammers set up official-looking "breeder directories", "verified breeder" badges or review sites to lend credibility to their own fake listings. A badge or a five-star review means nothing if the site itself is run by the scammer. Verify breeders through independent, recognised registries (KUSA, CFSA, SACC) rather than a directory the seller points you to, and be sceptical of any site whose reviews cannot be checked elsewhere.
