Dog-training and "behaviourist" deposit scams

Other pet scam South Africa (nationwide) Published 28 Jul 2026

What happened

A documented scam pattern. A "certified trainer" or "behaviourist" promises fast results, requires full payment or a large deposit for a course up front, then delivers nothing or disappears after one session. Check qualifications and real client references, be sceptical of guaranteed-cure promises, and pay per session or in traceable instalments rather than a large lump sum in advance to someone you cannot verify.
