Cryptocurrency payment demands for pets
What happened
A documented scam pattern. The seller insists on payment in Bitcoin or another cryptocurrency because it is fast and irreversible, which is exactly why scammers like it: once sent, it is gone. Ordinary pet sales in South Africa do not require crypto. Treat any demand to pay for a pet or a shipping fee in cryptocurrency as a strong sign of fraud, and prefer traceable payment on collection.
