Chargeback and reversed-payment scams against sellers
What happened
A documented scam pattern that targets sellers. A buyer pays by card or instant EFT, collects the pet, then reverses the payment or files a chargeback claiming fraud, leaving the seller with nothing. Keep a clear paper trail: a signed sale agreement, ID of the buyer, and proof of handover. Be cautious with payment methods that can be reversed after collection, and for higher-value animals prefer cleared, irreversible funds before handover.
