Boarding kennel and cattery deposit scams
What happened
A documented scam pattern, common in holiday season when boarding is scarce. A "kennel" or "cattery" advertises availability, takes a deposit to secure the dates, then cannot be reached when you arrive, or the facility does not exist. Book only with a facility you have visited or that has a verifiable physical address and real reviews, pay deposits in a traceable way, and confirm the booking directly by phone before you travel.
