AI-generated puppy and kitten photo scams
What happened
A newer, documented pattern. Scammers now use AI to generate photos and even short videos of pets that do not exist, defeating the old "reverse image search" check because the images are original. Look for tell-tale AI glitches (odd paws, ears, backgrounds, or eyes that do not track), and rely on a live, interactive video call where you ask the seller to show the animal doing something specific in real time, plus an in-person visit before paying.
